Marie Zar

Marie "Tootsie" Zar, of Lafitte, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the age of 96. Marie was born December 30, 1925 of the late Andrew and Agnes Buffane. Marie was the loving wife of the late John Zar, Jr. Devoted mother of John Zar III (Gladys), Barry Zar (Teresa), and Sherry Z. Perez (David). Proud Maw Toot of Troy Zar (Penny), Rhonda Vincent (Gene), Kimberly Zar, Stephanie Parria (Jerry), the late Jody Berggren (Jerry), Stacey Matherne and Ray John Matherne (Stacy). Marie leaves behind 15 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and one along the way. Marie is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who are left to cherish her memory.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Wednesday, September 14th, 2022 in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home. A visitation will begin at 9:00AM and continue until the Mass time. Interment will follow at St. Pius X Cemetery in Crown Point, Louisiana.
