Marlene Joyce Leonard

Marlene Joyce Leonard passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at the age of 88. She was born on January 7, 1935 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Jack and Lucille Christmann. Beloved wife of the late Gerald Joseph Leonard for over 66 years. Loving mother of Steven Leonard Sr. (Denise), David Leonard (Tracey), and Nathan Leonard (Yvette). Proud grandmother of 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren. Sister of the late Norman Dalon (Fay) and Ralph Christmann. Marlene is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Marlene worked as a beautician and she enjoyed sewing, playing bingo, square dancing, and was an avid Saints fan. She also loved to cook and sharing her recipes. Her kitchen was never closed. Most of all, Marlene loved her family, especially her grandchildren, who all have fond memories and stories of their time spent with her. She took care of all of her grandchildren and never missed a sporting event. Marlene was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial visitation on Friday, October 6, 2023 beginning at 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. Memorial Mass will be begin at 1:00 PM and burial will immediately follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna.
