Martin Kenneth BADEAUX

September 9, 1957November 23, 2019

Martin Kenneth “Kenny” Badeaux passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the age of 62. He was the widower of Sallie Ruth Badeaux who passed away earlier this year. Kenny and Sallie didn’t have a perfect marriage, but they loved each other deeply for over four decades. Father, grandfather, and great grandfather to Christopher, Misti Lynn, Carrie (Glen), Hannah, Christina, Angel, Jessica, Purity, and Logan. He was the son of the late Annette Gardner and Clyde Ward and brother to Lloyd Gardner and Kathryn Williams (Paul).

He was the light in the room and was said to never have met a stranger. He had the ability to make a connection with anyone. He was very passionate about helping others and was known to sacrifice to help those around him in need. He was a “jack of all trades,” and had his hand in so many professions throughout his life. He enjoyed building things, riding his motorcycle, and spending time on the beach. He will be most remembered for his enthusiasm, storytelling, and his ability to bring a smile to your face.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Gretna, 100 Gretna Blvd., Gretna, LA, 70063, on Saturday November 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM. A private gathering will be held afterward for family and close friends.

My best memory was on vacation in Gulf port Martin, April, and the girls came to visit. We were all sitting by the pool talking and having a good time watching the kids swim. And Martin decided he wanted to try to test his "legs" in the water. We told him to go to the shallow end where he can touch but he decided 6 1/2 deep was better. I will never forget that. I have many more memories but that one is the one that sticks in my mind. He was a great guy and will be greatly missed.
