Mary Catherine Ryken

Mary Catherine Hodge Ryken passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2014 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John M. Ryken. She is survived by her children, Joseph Morehouse (Karen) of Waggaman, LA, Paul Morehouse (Donna) of Winterhaven, FL, Lawrence Morehouse of Ridgeway, VA, Evan Morehouse of Longmont, CO, and Brian Morehouse of Metairie, LA; her stepchildren, Lawrence P. Ryken (Joan), Barabara J. Ryken, Carol A. Ryken (George Eccles), and Sally J. Ryken (Mohammad Zafari); her grandchildren, Joseph Morehouse Jr., Justin Morehouse, Larry Morehouse Jr. (Ruth), Sean Morehouse (Cathy), Stephen Morehouse, Brian Morehouse Jr., and Paul Morehouse; 12 great grandchildren; her brothers, Francis “Frank” Hodge and Larry Hodge; and her Godchild, Jimmy Hodge. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence F. Hodge and Pauline Setty Hodge of Massena, NY; her step son, Donald A. Ryken; her granddaughter, Jessica Morehouse; and her brother, John Hodge. She married Paul Erwin Morehouse in 1948, and John M. Ryken in 1971. She was a dedicated homemaker and avid reader.
