Mercedes Argentina Guerra entered peacefully into heaven on Sunday, July 19, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Devoted wife of the late Cesar Guerra 32 years. Loving mother of Ces Guerra (Laura), Rebecca Guerra Schlemmer (Don) and Anna Guerra Colvin (Jeff). A proud grandmother of Patrick Spencer (Ashley). Daughter of the late Ana and Juan Eloy Alban. Sister of 7 brothers and sisters.
She was also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mercedes enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting, sewing, traveling, loved her Saints and LSU football, bingo, but mostly spending time with her family.
Age 88, a native of Ecuador and moved to the United States in the early 50's where she met her husband and raised her family in New Orleans, LA.
She had a major part in the development of the New Orleans Tourist Industry and was a charter member of New Orleans Tour Guides Association. She enjoyed meeting people but never met a stranger.
