Miguel Benitez died peacefully in the presence of his family and made his way to Heaven on July 26, 2022 at the beautiful age of eighty-two. Born on June 5, 1940 in Cuba, he is preceded in death by his parents and his amazing wife Maria Benitez.
Miguel made his way to New Orleans in 1957 with very little to make a life and live his dream of having a beautiful family. In 1958 he met Maria and they were soon married on July 5, 1962 and remained married for the rest of their lives (together 60 years and married 55 years) on earth and eternity in heaven. Miguel raised three sons and a niece, whom is considered a daughter and sister to the Benitez Family. Miguel loved his Family, friends, and most of all he loved God. Miguel lived a selfless life, his days and nights were filled with working nights and days to provide for his family, raising his family, and praying for others. Miguel Benitez work ethic, integrity, and love for God became a foundation for his family and will forever be his legacy, living on with his family and to everyone that met him.
Miguel is survived by his sons: Roberto, Eduardo, Miguel, and Iris-daughter/niece, Claudia daughter-in-law, seven grandchildren: Yamilet, Brandon, Brittany, Angel, Joshua, Daniel and Corina, and ten great grandchildren: Nathaniel, Chase, Kamdyn, Ezra, Ezekiel, Rhema, Aubrey, Dominik, and not born just yet: Harvest and Elliana.
Visitation and services will be held at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, LA on August 6, 2022. The visitation will begin at 10AM until12PM, followed by Services starting at 12PM. The Service will be officiated by Pastor Jamie Weidner. A Celebration of Life will follow the service at 2621 Buccaneer Dr. in Marrero, LA.
