Murphy Joseph Sannasardo Sr.

Murphy Joseph Sannasardo, Sr., passed away peacefully at Ochsner-Westbank on Sunday, April 3, 2016 with his loving family at his side. Devoted husband of the late Mary Lynn Juneau Sannasardo of 55 years. A loving father of Murphy Joseph Sannasardo, Jr., Samuel Joseph Sannasardo (Rhonda) and Laurell Sannasardo Plaisance (Tommy). A proud grandfather of Katelyn Sannasardo, Sammy Sannasardo and Lindsey Plaisance Paternostro (Shane). A great grandfather of Chloe Callahan, Brayden Paternostro and Tristan Paternostro. Son of the late Virginia Allelo Sannasardo and Salvador Sannasardo. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Age 83, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and a lifelong resident of Harvey, Louisiana. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Rosalie Catholic Church.

He was the former owner of Juneau’s Sandwich Shop for 25 years. He enjoyed playing golf, dancing and mostly spending time with family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Bayside Healthcare Center for their compassionate care of Murphy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Rosalie Catholic Church, 600 Second Ave., Harvey, LA on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 12:00 noon. Visitation from 11:00 am until Mass time. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl 17, Chicago, IL 60601, will be appreciated.
