Patricia "Patty" Claire Castaneda

Beloved wife of Cesar Castaneda, who were happily married over 51 years. Mother of Stacy Saavedra and the late David Castaneda. Grandmother of Melina Castaneda and Jamie Guidry. Daughter of the late Robert "Bob" and Anna Claire Pietraroia. Sister of Carolyn "Khaki" Yesso (Donald) and Cheryl Ciccio (Gus) as well as the late Robert "Bob" Pietraroia (the late Reanna), Louis "Tony" Pietraroia (the late J.T.), and Dianne "Didee" Norton (Leon). Aunt of Pam Norton, Arlinda Kiger, Amanda Yesso, Teresa Dow, and Michael Dow, as well as the late Stephen Norton, and Stephanie Norton. She is also survived by many other loving relatives, and friends, but especially Kathy and Allen Dent.

She was a native of New Orleans, and a longtime resident of Gretna. She was a devoted parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church. She met her husband in June of 1970 at the Tenneco Gas Station at Tulane and Broad, where he was working. They were married 2 months later. She retired from Danny and Clyde's convenience store in 2000. She loved spending time with her family, but especially her husband.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.WestsideLeitzEagan.com for the Castaneda family.
