He was the father of Tennille Hurst (Kyle); grandfather of Kole Hurst; former husband and dear friend of Trene Planche; son of the late Virginia and Octave Planche Jr.; brother of Octave "Butch" Planche (Loretta), Felix Planche (Karen), Ann Fruge (Bobby), Jenny LeBlanc (Paul), Peter Planche (Angela), and Mark Planche (Tonia). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was a loving, giving person, who worked hard all of this life. He worked in oil production for most of his adult life. He enjoyed hunting at his family farm in Bogalusa, LA. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand for anyone in need.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 7:00 PM. A Memorial Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM until the Mass, and will continue after Mass until 9:00 PM.
