Pearl Mary Logrie Smith

Pearl Mary Logrie Smith passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the age of 81 with her daughters by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Patrick H. Smith for 64 years and the loving mother of Glenda Smith Doucet (Randy), Patricia “Patty” Smith Hoppe (Jimmy) and the late Linda Smith Nelton (Larry). She was the grandmother of 9, the great-grandmother of 5 and the great-great grandmother of 1. Pearl was the daughter of the late Edwin Logrie and Bernadette Bourgeois Logrie and the sister of Cecile Modenbach, the late Edwin Logrie, Mike Logrie, Robert Logrie, Wilton Logrie, Betty Logrie, Jessie Cordes, Rita Logrie, Raymond Logrie, Rosie Logrie, Harry Logrie, Joseph Bourgeois and Vernon Logrie. She is also survived by several beloved cousins, nieces and nephews as well as a devoted friend, who was like a son, Larry R. Smith (Carole). A native New Orleanian and a longtime resident of the Westbank, she was a member of the Eastern Stars and Oakdale Golden Agers. The family would like to thank each and every one who has ever touched their Mom’s life in the last 81 years, including Linda Falcon, Laurie Jean Thompson and the Wynhoven Staff who assisted her in her later years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM followed by a Service in the Chapel. Burial will then take place in Restlawn Cemetery in Avondale.
