Rachel Ann Rabalais

Rachel Ann Rabalais of Westwego, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, November 14th, 2023, at the age of 74. Rachel was born in Baytown, Texas to the late Morris Eaves and Jane Pitre Falgout and raised by Asward Falgout. She was the wife of Jon Russell Rabalais for 43 loving years. Loving mother of Michael Cheramie and Chad Cheramie. Grandmother of Joshua Cheramie. Rachel was the sister to Morris (Bo) Eaves, Doris Watts and the late Perry Monnier, Asward (Tookie) Falgout as well as two younger siblings. Rachel was a loving mother figure to Sharan Falgout and Tammy Lilliman.

Rachel enjoyed playing tennis back in the day, taking care of animals, making crafts and shopping every Saturday morning. Her favorite music was by John Denver and Rita Coolidge. Rachel love taking pictures as she always had a camera with her. She loved taking pictures of mountains and flowers as well as all nature things. Taking pictures brought her much joy and happiness. If it hadn't been for her nursing career and her extreme love for taking care of babies, she would have been an avid photographer.

Rachel was a neonatal nurse at West Jefferson Hospital in Marrero, LA for many years and taking care of the infants was not only her job, but her passion to care for the infants is what made her such a wonderful nurse.

Rachel will be deeply missed by her loving family and all those who came to know her.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, November 20th, 2023 in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. The visitation will begin at 10:00AM and continue until the service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you either donate to Children's Hospital or the Humane Society in her name.
