Roland John Whittington

Roland John Whittington passed away on April 19, 2022 at the age of 60. He was born on September 27, 1961 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late John B. and Betty R. Whittington. He was the loving father of Sandra A. Laiche (David), Kathleen A. Hotard (Mark), and Toni A. Whittington (Carrie). Proud grandfather of Harli Laiche, James Whittington, Wesley Bourg, Kenneth Theriot, Maddox Hotard, Savannah Hotard, Charity Aldridge, Ezekial Harmon, William White and the late Christina "Chrissie" Whittington. Brother of Ronald G. Ferraro, Barbara L. McNulty, John B. Whittington, III, Carolyn A. Berthelot and the late Donald L. Ferraro and Allen L. Whittington. Uncle of Ashley Berthelot, Brandy Shields (Sean) and Bobby McNulty (Ashley). Roland was also survived by many cousins and friends.

Roland was a very loving, caring and hardworking man. He worked as a plumber for most of his life and loved to help his customers any way possible. He made many friends during his career. He was very proud of carrying on the families invention of the "Whoey Stick". Roland enjoyed fishing, watching tv and playing cards but his happiest times were spent with his family and friends. He was amazing with kids, especially those he was close to. It didn't take much to have him wrapped around their little fingers. He has faced many challenges during his life but he always persevered. Roland was loved by all who were blessed to have known him and he will be dearly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero.
