

Rosadell “Rosie” Boudreaux LaBauve, 81, a native of Raceland and a resident of Avondale for 47 years, entered eternal rest with family by her side on March 1, 2011, at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero. She was born April 23, 1929, to the late Bertine Dufrene Boudreaux and Irvin Boudreaux, Sr. She was a 1945 graduate of Raceland High School. She retired from TG&Y and Wal-Mart. She was a parishioner and an active member of St. Bonaventure Church, including being an officer on the Church Parish Council. She was a recipient of the highest and most cherished honors of the Archdiocese, the Order of St. Louis IX Medallion, presented to her by Bishop Alfred Hughes. She was also an active member of the Bridge City Golden Agers, Legion of Mary, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Her grandkids were the world to her. Rosie never met a stranger, and will always be remembered for her loving heart, wonderful smile and kind glistening blue eyes. Rosie’s generosity extended to all she knew. Rosie loved helping others, always ready to take a friend to an appointment or just being there as a friend. She loved to see her grandkids’ eyes as they opened her “many” gifts at Christmas gatherings. Kids were Rosie’s life, always donating to the “little children.” Rosie loved to ro-day!
Rosie was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Virgest J. LaBauve, Jr.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra, and husband Eugene Borak, of Tomball, Texas, Cherie, and husband James Delacerda, of Baton Rouge, and Jamie Gambino; two sons, Keith LaBauve, of Alexandria and Karl, and wife Michelle LaBauve, of Perkinston, Mississippi; Son-in-law Greg Dison, of West Monroe; twelve grandchildren, Elizabeth “Liz”, Kelsie, Karlye, Karl “KV” LaBauve, Lillian Beard, Jayme Boudreaux, Leslie and Jonathan Gambino, Natalie, Gregory, Arielle, and Erin Dison; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Yolande, and husband Henry Seibert, and Audrey Folse; brothers Irvin, Jr. and wife Alice Boudreaux and Thomas Boudreaux, and friend, Linda Acosta; sister-in-law, Betty Boudreaux; long-time dear friends Loretta Templet, of Belle Rose and Tilly Punch; along with a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by daughter Kim LaBauve Dison; daughter-in-law, Catherine “Cathy” LaBauve; grandsons, Joey Nunez and Troy Phillip; special granddaughter, Mandy Acosta; sister, Adrella Boudreaux Delaune; brother Russell Boudreaux; brother-in-laws, Pete Folse and Huey Delaune; niece, Giselle Delaune Dufrene; and nephew Michael Boudreaux.
Rosie you will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know you!
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Thursday, March 3, 2011, from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM at which time a procession will leave the funeral home going to St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 329 South Jamie Blvd, Avondale, LA 70094 and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM at the church celebrated by Father Pat Gannon. Entombment in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Westwego, LA. Pallbearers will be Keith LaBauve, Karl LaBauve, Jonathan Gambino, Eugene Borak, Jr., Robin Seibert, Timothy Seibert and serving as honorary pallbearers will be Henry Seibert, Irvin Boudreaux, Jr., James Delacerda and Thomas Boudreaux.
