Rose Rita Guidry

Rose Rita Guidry passed away on July 12, 2022 at the age of 76. She was born on September 21, 1945 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Thomas Patton and Catherine Riley Patton. Devoted wife of 33 years to Charles Guidry. Loving mother of Lisa Savoie, Sheri Bourgeois (Victor, Sr.), Thomas Savoie (Kim), Scott Savoie (Jessica) and Catelyn Matherne (Rusty). Proud grandmother of Rickey LeBlanc (Amanda), Kyle LeBlanc (Erica), Tiffanie Pecoul (Jimmy), Cody Savoie, Mallorie Ledet (Robert), Victor Bourgeois, Jr., Madison Bourgeois, Malee Bourgeois, Marissa Bourgeois, Amanda Savoie (Tharon), Jordan Southall, Julia Southall, Austin Savoie (Alex), Evan Savoie (Lauren), Brennan Savoie, Landon Savoie, Peyton Matherne, Dawson Matherne and Baker Matherne and 10 great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law of Edith Leco, Sidney Guidry (Paulette), Bridget Brathbury (Glenn), Donna Meerman, Clarence Guidry (April) and the late Ruth Whipple (the late Maurice). Rose is also survived by her furbaby, Daisy Mae, many cousins, Ms. Janice and Lenny Arceneaux, Ms. Pat Buras, Ms. Ledris Wells, Ms. Ira Dugas, Ms. Gloria Young and other dear friends.

Rose was known as the "QVC Queen". She loved spending time with her family and cooking Monday night dinner for her kids. Rose always put everyone above herself and never met a stranger. She would make a friend everywhere she went. She was known as "Mama Rose" to all of her children's friends. Rose was loved by everyone and will be dearly missed.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bridgepoint Continuing Care Hospital and West Jefferson Hospital (3rd floor west and SCU) for the loving care they showed during the time she was there.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, July 18, 2022 beginning at 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway. Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will be held at a later date.
