

Roy Joseph Adams passed away on July 29, 2024 at the age of 97. He was born on January 24, 1927 in Raceland, Louisiana to the late Edgar and Annette Adams. Devoted husband of the late Verlyn Marie Dufrene Adams. Loving father of Roylyn Adams Hebert (Kenneth), Kevin Joseph Adams (Sophia) and Alcide Batiste Adams (Rebekah). Proud grandfather of Kenneth Hebert, Jr (Katherine), Kris Hebert (Brandy), Kevin James Adams (Mary), Stephanie Adams Watkins (Gary), Hayden Adams (Lexie), Cesla Marie McKee/Adams and the late Amber Lynn LeJeune and great-grandfather of Bryce, David, Karter, Gracey, Laila, Karson, Daniel, Kannon, Bradley and Christian. Brother of Rosemary Falgout, Lester Adams, Pearl Foret, Dudley Adams and the late Hubert Adams, Enola Autin, Nora Schouest and Clifton Adams. Roy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
Roy was born in Raceland but lived in Marrero for most of his life. He proudly served the United States Navy in World War II and served on the USS Miami. He was also in the United States National Guard until 1951. Roy was also a member of the American Legion a an active member of the VFW.
Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, gardening and going to the casino. He was always the first one to come help anyone in need of an extra hand. Roy was truly the "Jack of all Trades" and a hero to many. Most of all, Roy loved spending time with his family. Especially going to watch the great-grandchildren playing sports.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, August 2, 2024 beginning at 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 PM and interment will immediately follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Westwego.
