Royce Joseph Tranchant

Royce Joseph Anthony Tranchant met our Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 10:13 pm at the age of 74, just 1 month shy of his 75th birthday. He was born at Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans on March 10, 1947. Royce was a native of Lafitte, Louisiana and a resident of Luling, Louisiana. Royce was a shrimp fisherman earlier in his life. Later in his life, he became a welder at Avondale and retired there in 2008. Royce loved his first cup of coffee from his drip pot in the morning. He enjoyed watching classic television shows as well as FOX news. He also enjoyed making model shrimp boats. He made some beautiful boats over the years! Royce loved his family with all his heart. He was a simple man who loved his home and just being there. He is proceeded in death by his dad, Ernest Harold “Papeen” Tranchant, who died before Royce was born, his stepfather who raised him, Emile Allen Collins, his mom Mildred Guidry Tranchant Collins, his brother Sheddy “Scoop” Paul Collins, and his first wife Maribeth Ann Olano. He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 44 years, Paulette Ann Frickey Tranchant. Loving father of Shana Michelle Tranchant, Elizabeth Marie Tranchant, and Christopher Mark Tranchant. Beloved grandfather of Hannah Michelle Kaltvedt. He is survived by his brother Jackie Anthony Tranchant (husband of the late Linda Perkins Tranchant) and his beloved sister-in-law Dorothy Collins Philips. Royce is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation and memorial service on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Westside/Leitz-Eagan on 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. The visitation is from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The memorial service is from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support during this difficult time.
