OBITUARY
Ruby Ledet Bernard
February 13, 1923 – January 9, 2021
Ruby Ledet Bernard, peacefully went to meet the Lord on January 9th, 2021 at the age of 97. She was at her home, surrounded by her family who she loved dearly.
For 49 years, Ruby was married to the late Oswald “Johnny” Bernard, Sr. Together they had five sons, Timothy Ray Bernard (Susan), the late Cody Mark Bernard, Paul Emile Bernard (Sue), Oswald “O.J.” Bernard, Jr. (Sherry), and William “Billy” Peter Bernard (Cindy). She also raised Rose Bernard, Patricia Bernard, Myles Bernard, Jr., and the late Elina Bernard, all of which she loved as her own children. Ruby was a devoted grandmother to Taylor, Talise, Shalea, Shawn, Lindsey, Julie and Brandon, including numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Ruby was a native of Westwego, Louisiana and resident of Waggaman, Louisiana. Ruby was born to the late August Ledet and Elizabeth Bergeron Ledet. She was one of eight children. She is survived by one sister, Betty Bourgeois. Ruby is sister to the late Augustine “Teeny” Lawrence, Whitney Ledet, Charlie Ledet, Jerry Ledet, Lorraine Dipascal, and Anthony Ledet.
The Funeral Services for Ms. Ruby Ledet Bernard will remain private for her children and grandchildren, due to the pandemic. A Celebration of Life will be held by her family at a later date. Please send your condolences to the family at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.

I first met Ruby at the Bridge City Senior Center.She loved going there to socialize .She loved to play cards & to play bingo .Eventually she joined my Po-Ke-No Club.She enjoyed it very much.When she quit she was so sad.She enjoyed life & her family very much.Missed her very much.
