Ruthie "Doreen" Monson Pitre

Doreen Monson Pitre earned her angel wings on December 19th, 2021 at the age of 77. She was a native of Westwego, Louisiana born to the late James Monson Sr. and Ursula Biri Monson. Doreen was married to the late Raymond Pitre, Jr. for 32 years until he passed away in 2003. Devoted mother of her only child Tiffany Pitre Matherne (Dave Matherne). Loving MiMi to Raymond "Blue Boy" Matherne (Deena) and Christian "Bad Boy" Matherne. Loving GiGi to Emersyn Rae Matherne. Sister of Mary Stelly (Merlin), Diana Trosclair (Charlie), Richard Monson (Claire), Lynda Parker (Jack), Kathy Dufrene (Ronald), the late Ursula Abadie (the late Carroll), and the late James Monson Jr. (Kaye). Godmother of Mike Stelly (Mary) and "Lil' Ronnie" Dufrene. Doreen leaves behind her sisters-in-law Bobbie Pitre, Lisa Pitre Guidry, and Michelle Pitre. Doreen is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who are left to cherish her memory.

Doreen's family would like to thank Delliah Hampton, Concerned Care Hospice, and Bridgeway Hospice for all of their compassion during her illness, and also the staff at St. Francisville Country Manor for making her last days happy.

A funeral Mass will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday, December 23rd, 2021 in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00AM until the Mass begins. Interment will follow the Mass at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in Westwego, Louisiana.
