Sal was born January 24, 1964, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Judith Sutherland Gagliano and the late Salvadore Vincent Gagliano. He is survived by his loving wife Tammy Clark Gagliano, his sons, Dominic (Karlie), Dimitri (Lauryn) and Dietrich Gagliano, granddaughter Allie Rose and bonus grandchildren Aubree, Aydan and Ansyn Farmer. He is also survived by his sisters Carolyn Gagliano and Stephanie (Harry) Foreman and his brother Vincent Gagliano.
After spending years as a successful and talented carpenter, Sal pursued his true passion of fishing. Better known as “Captain Sal,” he spent his favorite moments sharing his passion with countless others, including mentoring his own sons. He will also be remembered for his contagious smile, singing and his endless commitment to his family. May his soul rest in heaven where he can fish every day, take long naps, and finally enjoy being retired after a lifetime of hard work.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in the chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. In honor of Capt. Sal, please wear your favorite fishing shirt, he hated suits.
