Sam William Hester Jr.

Sam William Hester, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 at the age of 68. He was the loving husband of Karen Ussin Hester for 38 years. Devoted father of Dabril Ussin Hester, Damone Ussin, Joyce Griffin, Alonzo Griffin, Priscilla Griffin, Ashley Griffin, Sametta Griffin-Piertie (Travis Pierite), Quintina Hester, and the late Samira Hester. Grandfather of King LeBlanc, Damone Ussin Jr., James Tenner Jr., Jermiah Griffin, Paris Hughes, Janyah Broden, Kevin Dailey Jr., Kayla Dailey, Laila Holland, Gabrielle Holland, Skye Holland, Anyah Pierite, Travis Pierite Jr., Keithyrah Richard, Patrick Hester, Precious Hester and Vernisha Hester. Brother of Lionel Hester and brother-in-law to Joseph Ussin, Warren Simmons (Dolly), Leroy Lewis (Victoria), Cynthia Simpson (Bill), and the late Calamity "Yammie" Coleman (Larry) and Roselyn Jenkins. Godfather of MaKayla Oliver, Kathy Christophe, and Kinetra Gougis. Sam leaves behind his dear friends Mr. John and Ms. Kat. Sam is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will miss him dearly.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents Sam William Hester Sr. and Marie Haydell Hester.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 29th, 2021 at 11:00AM in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. Greeting of the family will begin at 10:00AM and will continue until the service time.
