Serena Noel McKee

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved princess Serena Noel McKee. She spent her days full of laughter and surrounded by her loving family. She's been a ray of sunshine in the lives of all those who knew her. She touched an entire community of people with her warm heart and never-ending kindness. Serena never met a stranger and greeted everyone with hugs. She had an extraordinary talent for making everyone around her feel special.

Serena was born on March 5, 2018. She passed on January 27, 2025 at the age of 6 at Children's Hospital in New Orleans, LA from diabetes complications. She was a cherished member of her long time foster family in Lafitte, LA. She is survived by her father Stephen McKee, foster father and mother Selden and Mary Gomez, and foster siblings Selden Jr., Guiliano, and Alexzina Gomez. Though her time with us was far too short, the love and light she brought to the world will never be forgotten.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us through this very difficult time. A celebration of life is being held in her honor at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home in Marrero, LA on Saturday, February 15, 2025 with visitation from 1:00 - 4:00 PM and a service at 4:00 PM in the parlor. We invite those whose lives were touched by Serena to come and celebrate her beautiful spirit and the love she brought us all.

Serena, you may have left this world too soon, but you will forever be in our hearts. Rest in peace our sweet girl.
