Sheila Marie Babin Distefano passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the age of 66. Beloved wife of the late Vincent J. Distefano, Jr. Beloved daughter of Ethel Barbetta and the late Frank J. Babin, Sr. Sister to Frank J. Babin Jr., Kenneth J. Babin Sr., Mary Louise Babin, (Wayne Marroy), Debra Ann Babin Chevis (Michael Sr.), and the late Allen T Babin (Laurie Meaux Babin), and Perry J. Babin. Granddaughter to the late Eve Milda Barbetta and August Octave Barbetta as well as Olinda and Anthony Tagliavore. Godmother of the late Michele Marie Ledet Adams. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin on Friday, November 28, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and continue on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Restlawn Park Cemetery.
