

Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Shirley Ann Crochet, went to the Lord and to her late son, Ferdinand "Boo" Crochet, Jr., on July 28, 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on March 31, 1935 in White Castle and was a long time resident of Harvey, Louisiana. She was a homemaker and devoted, loving wife of Ferdinand Henry Crochet Sr. for 58 years. She was a member of the Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church in Harvey, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her father, Fabien "Bean" Raffray and her mother, Eve Landry Raffray; two brothers, Gary Raffray and Jerry Raffray Sr.; one sister, Audrey Hebert, and three infant sisters; brothers-in-law; Burch Hebert, Larry Delaune, Albert George Bladsacker Sr.; and great-niece, Alexis McDaniel. She is survived by two sons; Rickey Gerard Crochet and wife, Mary, Kevin Gerard Crochet and wife, Christine; three sisters, Barbara Raffray Bladsacker, Beverly Raffray Solar and husband, Robert, Fay Raffray Delaune; and one brother, Carol Raffray and wife, Debbie; sister-in-laws; Margaret Raffray, Genevive Raffray, Lois Clements. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Samantha Crochet, Courtney Crochet, Jasmine Crochet, Kaitlin Crochet and Virginia Payton; one great-granddaughter, Kylah Bell and one expectant great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Many thanks to her brother-in-law, Floyd Crochet, and her sister-in-law, Francis Crochet Hernandez; nieces; Darlene Burnham Landry, Theresa Hernandez Albert, Rhonda Lynn Bladsacker Tingle, who gave support to her family throughout her illness. Special thanks to her sister-in-law, Odile Crochet Landry, who sat tirelessly with her, her husband and her family throughout the last weeks of her life, and her nephew, Donald Gascon, who was there regularly for her family..
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Infant Jesus of Prague Church, 700 Maple St., Harvey, on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, July 31, at 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM at the funeral home.
