Shirley Marie Dufrene

Shirley Marie Belala Dufrene passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the age of 75. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Dufrene Sr. Mother of Lori Nicholas (Scott) and Michael Dufrene Jr. Grandmother of Amy Hall (Thomas), Danielle Nicholas (Emily), Mason Blake (James), Nicole Dufrene, and Michael Dufrene III. Great grandmother of Anneliese, Ethan, Elizabeth, Demi, and Austin. Sister of the late George Breaux and Melvin Belala. Godmother of Rhonda Brown and Roxanne Belala. The family would like to thank Rosalind, Rhonda, and Roxanne for going above and beyond at their time of need.

She will be remembered for her creativity and generous spirit. She made beautiful cakes and flower arrangements. She drove a school bus for many years. She was always there in time of need, usually with a creative solution to whatever the problem. In her later years, her favorite activity was spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
