Sterling Joseph Adams, Sr., known by his family as “Uncle Barky” and by his friends as “Big Daddy,” a retired fisherman of Barataria, Louisiana, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of the late Mary Ann Adams. Father of Maxie Sterling Adams, Jr., Stanley W. Adams, Steven Adams (Regina), Sandra Simmons, and the late Shyrlene Lester. Loving grandfather of four, and great-grandfather of two. Brother of Meta Boudreaux, Jeannette Burnett, the late Roy Adams, the late Renell Parria, and the late Rena Blanchard. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lafitte, on Tuesday Morning, March 26, 2013 at 11:00. Visitation will begin at 9:00. Interment will follow in St. Pius X Cemetery, Crown Point. Westside LEITZ-EAGAN in charge of arrangements. An online guestbook is available at

There are no comforting words that I could say to make the family, especially, T-Sterl, Stanley, Stevie and Seth feel better at this time. (Believe me, emotions are high for all of your cousins at this time).
From experience, time will heal.
Try to remember the happier moments and know that he,
along with Aunt Mary(Nanan), Sherlene, Aunt Rena, Daddy (Roy Adams) is sitting with Renell and looking down at us and laughing because we can't hear Renell's crazy jokes.
