home on Friday evening, October 2, 2026, following a long convalescence from a fall. She accepted her limitations with grace, humility, and unwavering faith in God.
Theresa was the beloved wife of the late John B. Mire, III, for 44
years until his passing on July 4, 2015. Together they shared a life of faith, love, laughter, and generosity. They had a passion for
traveling, dining out, dancing to 50's and country music, and
cheering on the Saints.
A devout Catholic throughout her life, she faithfully attended Mass whether home or on vacation, and recited the Holy Rosary daily.
She viewed the Mass on EWTN, and St. Louis Cathedral each day until her death.
Theresa was born to Louisiana French-speaking parents in New
Orleans, Louisiana. She could hold a conversation with them and
other relatives in French. A second language served her well.
She greeted everyone with a smile and had a genuine interest
in their well-being. Everyone she met was important to her.
She was a graduate of the second graduating class of West
Jefferson High School in Harvey, LA in 1957. Her first job was as
a cashier at Capdeboscq's Super Market, then she was hired as
an assistant to the orthopedic office of Kleinschmidt, Winters and
Frensilli. There she met her future husband, John, when he was
treated for a broken arm. An opportunity came along landing her
a clerical position at BellSouth, retiring after 25 plus years of
service. She was a member of the AT&T Pioneers West Bank Life
Member Club.
Theresa was predeceased by her parents, Frank Theriot, Sr. and
Della Dean Theriot; brother Frank Theriot, Jr.; in-laws Dorothy
Mire and Robert Porche, Sr. She is survived by sisters, Eunice
Ann (James) Peeples, Jane (the late Karl) Melling; nephews

Karlee, grand nephews Bradley, Dominic, and Bentley. Also
survived by the Porches and their families: Robert Jr, (Deborah),
Richard (Sandra), Barbara (Kevin) Keller, and Ronald (Rachel).
Theresa enjoyed staying in touch with family and friends, never
forgetting their birthdays with a card, plus phone calls, letters, and
cards at Christmas. Theresa and John displayed a beautiful lighted
Christmas Village which delighted all who visited.
The family would like to thank Fr. Bryan Howard and Fr. Beau Charbonnet for their visits and prayers and for administering the Holy Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick; Dr. Christopher Joplin, RN Bridgette, SW Megan, and team of Heart of Hospice;
