It is with great sadness that the family of Theresa Ann Thompson Reyes “Reese Belle” announces that she entered eternal rest on December 15th, 2018 at the age of 72. She was the daughter of the late Russell and Odile Thompson Sr. Theresa will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years Dwight “Coco” Reyes Sr.; their three sons, Dwight “Scooby” (Tonya), Dennis (Kristy), and Dustin (JoEllen); and their ten grandchildren, Adrienne, Elijah, Elisha, Sydni, Lil Dustin, Seth, Aaron, Heaven, and Kyah. She was the beloved sister of Louis “PU” (Rosalita), Mary “Dennie” (Mitchell), Dail (Norris), Vanasa (Jeffery), Amae, and the late Leroy Ancar, Manual Ancar, and the late Annette Casbon. She was the Godmother of Julie Duplessis. Theresa is survived by a host of nieces and nephews, and will forever be remembered in the hearts of many. She was a lifelong resident of Grand Bayou Port Sulphur, Louisiana. Theresa touched several lives and was a blessing to many including the family of Kathy Carter (Ray) whom Theresa claimed as the daughter she never had. Anyone who knew her could not deny the name of Jesus and the unfailing love of our God. Her strength and positivity during the many wonderful years of her life is otherwise unexplainable. She lived to Yahweh and with every chance she got, up until the very last minute of her life, she won souls for the Kingdom of Yahweh. A Stronger person would be hard to find. Although we are sad that her journey here on Earth has ended, we may also rejoice for we know that this is not a forever “goodbye” but simply “see you later.” As Theresa said “Don’t cry because I am gone, be happy because I am finally at rest with the biggest smile on my face!” We will miss you dearly but we have numerous memories to hold on to, so “see you later.” You will forever be in our hearts until the glorious day we meet again.
The “Hallelujah Party” for Theresa Ann Thompson Reyes will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018. Viewing will be from 9-11 AM at Grand Bayou Light Tabernacle, Grand Bayou Way, LA, followed by services at 11:00 AM by Troy Creppel and Pastor Ellroy Mackey . Burial will follow at Diamond Cemetery and Repass at Grand Bayou Tribal Center.
