Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Mack Matherne Sr.

Thomas “Tommy” Mack Matherne, Sr. passed away on Good Friday, April 22, 2011 at the age of 67. He was the beloved husband of Mary Dempster Matherne for the past 47 years and the loving father of Annette “Nettie” Navero (Floyd, Jr.), Victoria “Vickey” Schouest (Mickey), Grace Lynn Matherne (Henry Mayfield), Thomas M. Matherne, Jr. (Melissa) and Paul V. Matherne. He was the devoted grandfather of Anthony, Emily, Nicholas, Maggie, Floyd, III, Emma, Thomas, III, Ashley, Lilly and the late Matthew. He was the son of the late Louis Paul Matherne, Jr. and Grace Rita Christian Matherne as well as the brother of Michael Matherne, Ray Matherne and the late Larry Matherne. He is also survived by numerous brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

He was a commercial fisherman and was a lifelong resident of Lafitte.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the Funeral Services at WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY, MARRERO, LA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Chapel at Westside. Burial will be private.
