Torrin Reed Strickland was born on October 14, 1998, and passed away on June 12, 2021. He was truly a strong, handsome guy that is survived by his mother Faye Verdin Magana, stepfather Mario Isidoro Magana and father Gary Strickland, Jr. Torrin was also an amazing brother to Tierza "Julian" Strickland, Caden Anderson, and Ellajolie Anderson, but he especially enjoyed being "Bubby" to the love of his life, his baby brother, Mario Isidoro Magana III - who adored him immensely. He had many aunts and cousins that he loved with his whole heart, but Aunt Maddie was his favorite. He was a loyal, caring friend and would help anyone who needed it. He did not have it in him to say no. Torrin was a mama's boy, yet confident in who he was and what he believed in. He loved to celebrate 420, traveling and the holidays. He started listening to Christmas music months in advance! He loved to decorate the tree and carve the pumpkin every year. Cooking was his passion, and he rocked it out. Becoming a professional chef was always his dream. Addiction robbed him of that. Extremely outspoken, kind and so sweet. He was perfectly imperfect. He was beautiful. And he lost the fight he had been trying to win for so long.
Now we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived and that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. Torrin's adventure has ended, but please don't let his story be over. Please comfort his mother and family with any memories or photos you may have when you attend his going away party. And when you arrive you will have to imagine him on a better day.
