On April 9, 2020 the world lost a bright and shining light in Wanda Jean Adam. Just 11 months later, she called her beloved husband, Garrell Adam Jr, to her side on March 9, 2021. They are preceded in death by their beloved parents Garrell and Audrita Adam and Maxime and Virginia Autin; as well as brother in law Rickey Matherne Sr. Survived by their devoted children, Sabrina & Tom Hernandez, Garelyn & Paul Dinet, and Samantha & Stephen Gambino. And most importantly, let’s not forget the passel of grandkids they adored above all: Madison, Paul Jr, Garrell “Gus”, Stevie, Mateo and baby River Jean. They were loyal and caring siblings to Bruce (Patricia), Joyce, Debra ( Louis), Jeff (Roylynn), and Beth (Kevin). Beloved godson and niece to Janice and Al Cheramie. And all the nieces, nephews, and god children they held in their hearts as their own: Jeff Jr., Lindsey, Alyssa, Nicholas, Hailey, Bruce Jr., Bobby, Brian, Timothy, Rickey, Ginger, Kelly, Kimblie, Mandy and Louis Jr.
Our dad originally wrote these beautiful words about our mom, and we want to share them with you. Even in his immeasurable pain after the loss of our mom, his was still a message of love, and hope that our grief will bring us back around to remember the good times and to look forward to brighter days.
There are some people who shine a light so bright to the world that even after they are gone their lights remain. This was Garrell & Wanda. We want everyone to remember that grief never ends but it can change if you let it. Please... let it. Grief is a passage, not a place they would want us to stay. Expressing your grief is not a sign of weakness nor of a lack of faith in God, it’s just the price we all pay for loving them. Grief is all the love you want to give, but cannot. Little by little, we let go of the loss. But never the love. Instead, love one another, cherish one another, and hold one another close for life is too short to do otherwise.
The girls would like to invite family and friends to a joint Celebration of Life at the Jules Nunez Memorial Pavillion at 920 Jean Lafitte Blvd. in Lafitte, Louisiana on April 10, 2021 from 1 pm to 5 pm. Please post special memories or messages via the webpage www.westsideleitzegan.com so that we can include them in the celebration. All who attend must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
