Weldon John Steve Jr.

Weldon “Steve” John Steve, Jr. entered peacefully into heaven on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Darlene Guidry Steve. Loving father of Justin Steve and Heather Steve. A proud grandfather of Keegan and Lillian. Son of the late Dorthea Marcour Steve and Weldon John Steve, Sr. Brother of Michael Steve (Cheryl) and Trudy Steve Scales (Will). He also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and Nyla and Roxy (his furry companions). Weldon retired from City of Westwego and worked as an Officer of the Gretna Police Department. He was also a lifetime member of the Westwego Fire Company #1. Weldon served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed camping, experimental cooking, watching old movies and TV shows and mainly spending time with his family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited at attend a Funeral Mass at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy., Marrero, LA on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 am. Visitation on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and visitation on Saturday beginning at 9:00 am. Interment following in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA.
