Witold Tadeusz Halka, 89, passed away July 16, 2026. Born in Rozniatow, Poland (now Ukraine), on September 20, 1936, he relocated after World War II to Gdansk, Poland, where in 1962 he obtained a master of science degree in shipbuilding engineering from Gdansk Polytechnic University. In 1980, he immigrated with his family to the United States and settled in the New Orleans area. He worked as a design engineer at Avondale Shipyards until his retirement in 2004. He was passionate about world news, politics, and sports, especially soccer. He is survived by his wife, Magdalena, and his son, Waldemar.
