Even though Betty worked various service related jobs throughout her life, she was primarily a homemaker, devoting her time to her family. Over the years, she volunteered as a substitute teacher at Grovetown Elementary School and was very active in the Harlem High School Booster Club. She also volunteered as a voting precinct worker for several presidential elections. She particularly enjoyed working with her husband, Bill, at the Gordon Lakes Golf Course on Fort Gordon. Betty was an avid bowler at Brunswick Bowling Alley until her health recently declined. She also enjoyed dancing, golfing, fishing, traveling throughout the American Southwest, and being with her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Hunt, from whom she was inseparable during their 58 year marriage. She is survived by her two children Kellie Hunt and Steven (Jane) Hunt; her two grandchildren Shauna (Andy) Taylor and Devin (Hannah) Hunt; eleven great-grandchildren, Tyler Best, Steven Best, Hailey Best, Eric Taylor, Avery Taylor, Connor Hunt, Ansel Hunt, Felicity Hunt, Carsten Hunt, Miles Hunt, and Ayla Hunt.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, December 6, 2014, at the New Hope Worship Center at 715 S. Old Belair Rd. in Grovetown, GA.
