Brian Smitty Harris Smith

Brian was a lifelong resident of Martinez. He is survived by his wife, soul mate, and best friend, Heather Goode Smith; parents, Wilson and Sandra Davis Smith, of Waynesboro, GA; mother-in-law, Pam Goode, Dahlonega, GA; grandmother, Susie Smith, Union Point, GA; aunts, Laurel Piper, Carolyn Clark, uncles, Rusty Jennings, Darryl Davis, and many cousins. He was an only child with a multitude of self proclaimed brothers and sisters.

Brian graduated from Augusta State University with a degree in Criminal Justice. Brian then became the general manager at Fastenal Company where he remained for 14 years. He attended Parkway Baptist Church in Evans, GA. Brian loved hunting, fishing, archery, shooting skeet and golf. He also enjoyed watching Braves baseball, Georgia football and NASCAR. He played baseball in the state championship game in the Dixie Youth World Series in the mid 80’s and then went on to play for Evans High School. Brian had a big heart and loved spending time with his family, friends and dogs, Miller and Blaze. He touched many lives and will be missed by all who loved him.

Memorial services will take place on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 1pm at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Columbia Road Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
