

Bruce attended Wisconsin State College, Oshkosh, where he also worked at his cousin’s small garage and gas station between 1957 and 1960. He met and dated Joyce Sievers during these years who he married immediately after graduation. Bruce served as an Air Force Reserve Medic and also worked for the Social Security Administration at posts in East St. Louis and Milwaukee before becoming an Ammunition Inspector for the U.S. Army in 1966. While working for the Army, he had tours in Illinois, Germany, Pennsylvania, Italy, and traveled extensively throughout Europe, Turkey, and South America.
After retirement, Bruce was active in the Moline IL Lions Club and he enjoyed tinkering with his Model-A cars, building hot-air engines, making toys of various kinds, and spending lots of time with garden work, traveling, and looking after his beloved dog, Lucy.
Bruce is survived by his wife Joyce, his son Paul Maddy (Donna) of Evans, GA, Granddaughter Hailey Desormeaux (Michael) of Satellite Beach FL, and his great-grandchildren Ava and Delilah Desormeaux. He is preceded in death by his son, Dean Maddy of Dekalb IL.
