Ms. Carolyn was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and attended the Trinity Baptist Adult Sunday School Class. She worked for many years at South Columbia Elementary School in the cafeteria and also Hollinsworth Candy Company.
Ms. Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Lewis Sr.; siblings, Ruby Gibson, Maudena Long, W.M. Gray and Herbert Gray; and granddaughters, Caralynn Taylor and Rhonda Gail Lewis. Survivors include her children, Carol Barefoot (Ben) of Evans, GA, Wayne Lewis (Lynn) of Grovetown, GA and Jimmy Lewis (Joyce) of Evans, GA; grandchildren, Brian Barefoot, Jennifer Jane Taylor, Wayne “Bo” Lewis Jr., Ricky Lewis, Kimberly Pate, Michelle Rau and Danielle Mraz; 10 great-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, January 4, 2019 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Woods officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers who will honor Ms. Carolyn are Brian Barefoot, Wayne “Bo” Lewis Jr., Barry Taylor, Mike Hinton and Charles Story.
