He is survived by his children Alan (Vida) Hobbs of Grovetown, Paula (David) Bell of North Augusta and Angela (Joe) Ivey of Hephzibah, two grandchildren, Paul Bell and Joseph Ivey, whom he loved dearly and affectionately referred to as “Bo” and “Bo 2”. He is also survived by Patricia Hobbs of North Augusta, the mother of his children.
He was a retired pipefitter. Sonny was a Shriner, a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #150, and the Masonic Lodge.
A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Rd, Martinez, GA. 30907 with Pastor Jerry Byrd officiating.
