Born on May 24, 1957, Dae Young dedicated his life to his family, his work, his faith, and the people he loved. In South Korea, he successfully operated the restaurant Ilmi Mandu for many years, building a life through hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to those around him.
In 2001, Dae Young immigrated to the United States with his family in search of new opportunities and a better future. With the support of his brother's family, he settled in Augusta, Georgia, where he worked tirelessly to establish and operate a liquor store. Through his determination and strong work ethic, he provided for his family and built lasting relationships within his community.
Above all else, Dae Young was a devoted husband and father whose greatest joy in life was his family. He was a man of warmth, strength, and compassion. He appreciated life's simple blessings, showed kindness to those who were struggling, and never hesitated to express his love to the people who meant the most to him. Those who knew him will remember his gentle spirit, his generous heart, and even his occasional corny jokes that brought smiles to those around him.
Throughout his life, Dae Young faced extraordinary challenges, including major heart surgery and two brain surgeries. Yet he never lost his positive outlook, courage, or gratitude. His resilience inspired everyone who knew him. Through every trial, he remained steadfast in his faith, quietly and faithfully trusting in God.
One of the greatest sorrows of his life was the loss of his beloved son, Jong Won Lee, in 2018. Though he carried that grief in his heart, he continued to love and care for his family with unwavering dedication. We find comfort in believing that father and son are now reunited in God's eternal peace.
Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who loved and cared for our father throughout his life. We are especially thankful to those who extended helping hands during difficult times, those who faithfully prayed for our family, and those who have come to honor his memory and celebrate his life. Your kindness, support, and love have meant more to us than words can express.
Though he is no longer physically with us, Dae Young's love, faith, strength, and kindness will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and eternally cherished.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
