David McKinley Williams (Bad Boy Dave) was born on June 20th, 1959 in Norfolk, VA to John and Barbara Williams. He was the 6th child out of 15 (Jeraldine, John, Richard Marrita, Myra, James, Floyd, Daniel, Joseph, Mary, Ruth, Tekomin, Thaddeaus and Tekoa). David was most the stubborn out of his siblings and never liked being disciplined. At an early age David made true to his Bad Boy Dave name. He was the one to run away (literally) while everyone else got caught by the infamous backhand of Barbara Williams. One day David got caught by his mother which would be the last time he would ever be caught, he then channeled his wittiness into more constructive ventures like a modeling career and the approval of his mother. Growing up in the same household David’s siblings thought they all saw life the same but David saw life differently. Living amongst a large family he would always say; “no two people are the same and each family member’s life is different”.

At 20 years David joined the military as an ADA Short Range Gunnery Crewman in the US Army. He graduated from Alpha Battery, 4th ADA, 1st ADATB at Fort Bliss, TX and later finished his career as a reservist in Virginia Beach. David’s greatest accomplishment while in the Army was becoming a drill sergeant. As a drill sergeant he was always a perfectionist everything had to be orderly and on point, there was no room for error. He always taught his trainees that time was of the essence in his words “most Ricky Tick”!

In 1982 David met Denise Collins at Fort Story in Virginia Beach through his cousin Gail. David was always flirtatious towards Denise and would always tell corny jokes to get her. November of 1983 David and Denise got married. At the time she was pregnant with David’s first baby girl Candice (Moe Moe).

In 1992 David met his second wife Yolanda in Brooklyn, New York through her mother. David scrolled through a photo album where he saw Yolanda and said he instantly fell in love. They married in 1994 in Virginia. Together they had David Jr. (Dae Dae) , Titus (Diddy), and Yolanda (The Buda Buda) along with his stepchildren Dontaye and Crystal. David was a leader, he was determined, stern, loyal, committed, passionate, generous and caring. He’s one of the strongest people we knew and pulled through situations others would call impossible . David was a fighter, no matter what life threw his way he remained resilient. His infectious smile, incredible sense of humor and charm was loved by many people. There was never a dull moment when he was around. David was a jack of all trades he was a carpenter, a painter, a mechanic, a mason, a plumber, an electrician, etc. He was a loving father, brother, son, and friend to many and we will miss him dearly. Although he isn’t here with us in the flesh any longer, his Spirit will forever live on through his childhood and family. He will forever be in our minds, hearts , stories/memories and spirits .
