

Edward was born in Alice, Texas to Eduardo and Carmen Garza on May 5, 1973. He graduated from Texas A&M University Kingsville with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He married Patricia Kendall on January 18, 2013 in Evans, Ga.
He worked as a Network Engineer for US Army Information Systems Engineering Command for 4 years. Before that, he worked as a Civilian for the US Army as an Engineer for the Battle Command Lab at Fort Gordon, the 5th Signal Command in Mannheim, Germany, and the Cyber Battle Lab for a combined 17 years. He also served in the National Guard from 1994 to 1999.
He was a parishioner at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a valued member of the ISEC team at Fort Gordon where he received many performance awards.
Edward is survived by his wife, Patricia; his children, Beatrix (9), Gemma (6), and Adeline (3); siblings, Mike and Theresa; his father, Eduardo; his childhood best friend, Vince Alaniz and his wife Sylvia and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Carmen Garza.
Memorials may be given to St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church building fund. The family of Edward wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the chaplains and incredible medical staff at 6 West ICU at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Friday, October 8th at Elliott Sons Funeral Home in Martinez, Ga.
Funeral services will be at 11am on Saturday, October 9th at Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Father Theodore Agba of St. Teresa of Avila officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Bellevue Cemetery. Arrangements are by Elliott Sons Funeral Home Martinez.
