Elsa Lopez Outley

Mrs. Outley was born in Obregon, Mexico to the late Cielio Lopez and Maria Paiz. Later in life, she and her family moved to Augusta, GA where they have been members of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church for almost 50 years. She had a giving heart and was a faithful servant of the Lord who loved to serve in different capacities at the church, including as a gift bearer. Ms. Outley welcomed everyone and was a believer in having peace, even at difficult times in life. In her spare time, she was passionate about spending time with her family. She loved to garden, crochet, cooking spending time with her cherished friends and her pets. Ms. Outley also enjoyed listening to a variety of music.

Mrs. Outley is preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Douglas Outley; and grandchildren, Evan and Ashland Morris. Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth Morris (Stewart) and Michelle Edgar (Jeff); grandchildren, Chloe Morris and her boyfriend, Mason Floyd and Destiny Hammock and husband, Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Blake Hammock and Natalie Michelle Hammock; special friends of 53 years, George and Della Handy; and loving family who resides in Mexico.

The family would like to extend their heart felt thank you and appreciation to the care and compassion Windermere and Regency Hospice showed Ms. Outley during her care. The family also appreciates the aftercare with St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Elliott Sons Funeral Home.

A funeral mass will be held at 12pm, Saturday, April 5, 2025 at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church in Augusta, GA with Father Nate Swan officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, 1420 Monte Sano Ave., Augusta, GA 30904.
