Emma V Rodriguez

Emma Vazquez Rodriguez, 89, beloved wife to Gonzalo Rodriguez, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend entered into rest on June 27, 2026. Survived by her children, Maria Stidham (Frank, deceased), Norma Smith, Eric Rodriguez, Danny Rodriguez, Frank Rodriguez, Arnie Rodriguez and Marlo Collins (Steve), her grandchildren, Nicholas, Lindsey, Norah, Joshua, John Stephen, Sara, Jesse, William, Dylan, Emilio, Elise, Seth, Mitchell, Josh, Justin, and many precious Great Grandchildren.

Our Mother did a variety of jobs. She was a devoted military wife, worked at Murray Biscuit Co, helped brighten children’s days by dressing as a clown and passing out candy for American Legion parades and events. She was also a Supervisor/Teacher at the daycare in Fort Gordon in the 80’s. Mom also helped our Dad at his little shop at the South Augusta Flea Market every weekend. Whether it was dusting, cleaning or sorting, she did it with all of her heart.

One of the most important decisions our Mother made was when she gave her heart to the Lord. She was changed forever. Wanting everyone to know her Wonderful Savior, it became her mission to mention him to everyone she came in contact with whether in stores or at home. Her passion for the Lord, life, and her family was evident in the way she lived her life and treated people.

Our Mother exuded grace, strength, beauty, humility, selflessness and had a sweet sense of humor. She had many sayings that were shared at any given moment. “To remember is to live,” “One day at a time,” “Give me five,” “You’re not the Lone Ranger,” and “That’s for sure” are just a handful of sayings she lovingly shared with us. We will never forget the love and laughter she brought into our lives. Our Mother was a Great woman! We love you Mom! Mucho, mucho, mucho!

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Elliott Sons Funeral Home on Columbia Road. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at The Sanctuary Church on Cox Road with the Pastor Harold Jones officiating.
