Gene was born to the late Eugene and Gladys Homschek in Waukegan, Illinois. At the age of 16 he moved to Augusta, GA where he attended and graduated from ARC. Gene was a loving husband and father to his family. He worked as a Chemical Operator at DSM Chemical from 1974-2008 when he retired. He was passionate about bowling and landscaping.
Gene is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sheila Homschek; children, Eugene “Skipp” L. Homschek III (Donna), Robert T. McCorkell (Denise) and Joshua N. Sutton; brothers, Alan Homschek and Dennis Homschek; and grandchildren, Patrick, Levi, Madison, Zachary and William; and special friends, Robert Walter and Elmer Torres.
