George Martin Moore

George was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on February 10, 1955. He graduated from Green Mountain High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Northern Iowa in 1977. He spent most of his career in retail management, working for the Kmart Corporation and Office Depot, where he was known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and kindness to colleagues and customers alike.

George was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan who rarely missed a game. He also loved golfing, reading, and watching NCIS. Whether on the golf course, with a book in hand, or relaxing in front of the TV, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lois Moore. George is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years Marlene; his children, Ryan (Bart) Moore, Brent (Amy) Moore, Craig (Sarah) Moore, and daughter Brandie (Kevin) King; and his cherished grandchildren, Henry, Max, and Molly Moore, and Raleigh and Carsyn King. He is also survived by his five siblings: Robert, Susan, Sara, Greg, and Lee. George’s steady presence, quiet humor, and deep devotion to family and friends will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A funeral service for George will be held on July 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road Martinez, GA 30907. Family will receive friends at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, 4501 Wrightsboro Road Grovetown, GA 30813.
