Gerald Thomas Hicks

Mr. Hicks was born to Gerald and Linda Hicks in Marion, Indiana. He served in the United States Army as a Telephone System Installer. He was a proud American Soldier who loved his country. He is a Former Commander of VFW Post 649, a member of the American Legion Post 178 and also a member of the German Friendship Club of Augusta, GA. Mr. Hicks was also a truck driver for Schneider National where he earned an award for 30 years of consecutive safe driving. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, watching UGA Football and NASCAR and also enjoyed being outside, including going to the beach. Mr. Hicks was a loving man who never met a stranger.

Mr. Hicks is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Ingrid Hicks; son, Christopher Hicks; parents, Gerald and Linda Hicks of New Albany, Indiana; sisters, Tammy Davis (Mark) of South Boston, Indiana and Tina Richardson (Dan) of Odessa, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at 3pm, Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home.
