Sue Pittman

As the Sunday after Mother's Day approaches, I remember Aunt Ginny and her sister Margaret Powell Pittman more than at any other time. This was the anticipated Powell Family reunion in Johnson County near Wrightsville. We would have to pick them up early so we would be on time -- usually 2 hours before it started. I learned a lot about this family and the strong ties they had to each other. The Powell family has a wonderful past. The cemetery at the church is filled with more Powell's than I have ever seen. This family can trace it ancestors back to the American Revolution. Even after Aunt Ginny started losing her sight, she would recognize her relatives by their voices, even ones she had not been around for a year or more. She enjoyed sitting on the swing and talking. Since most of the Powell's have died, we no longer have the reunions, and I miss them as I will miss being there with Aunt Ginny and Margaret (my mother-in-law)

We didn’t know Ms Miller personally but she did a great job raising her children. Bro. Eli is precious, in fact his whole family is. Me & Carl are so sorry for your loss. May God bless and carry each of you through this time. 🙏
