Jack A Feldman

Jack A. Feldman, M.D. of Evans, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the age of82. Dr. Feldman, an accomplished Surgical Oncologist and General Surgeon, left his mark on the community with his years of dedication to his patients, as well as his love of performing in local theater. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he attended Penn State University and Temple University Medical School before completing a fellowship at Roswell Park Memorial Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. He served two years as a Major in the U.S. Army at Eisenhower Medical Center as the first Surgical Oncologist for the Southeast United States and Guam, inspiring his eventual move to Augusta. He opened a successful private practice at Doctor’s Hospital, working as well at St. Joseph’s Hospital and University Hospital to bring innovative surgical technologies to the CSRA.

Besides medicine, Jack’s other passion was theater. He met his wife, Barbara, in Penn State's production of The Music Man where they decided to play husband and wife on stage. In Augusta, he worked with local theaters including Fort Gordon Dinner Theatre, Augusta Players, Augusta University, and of course, Storyland Theatre, often performing alongside his wife. His favorite roles were Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, Pseudolus in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Ben Franklin in 1776, and Mr. Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Lynne Feldman, his son Stuart (Karin) and granddaughters Tabitha, Matilda and Aviva Feldman of Woodland Hills, CA, his daughter Nancy Giovannini of Orlando, FL, sister Jill Feldman of Philadelphia, PA and sister-in-law Joan Breman of Pittsburgh, PA. Jack also wished to include and thank some very special people in his life — Ginny Pardue, his office manager and dear friend of 49 years, and caregivers Chandra Houston and Roy Doolittle for their years of dedication to his care.

Currently, no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jack’s memory be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
