Mike truly was an incredible guy. One of the best I have known.... We immediately connected when I moved to Augusta in 2012. I was looking to transition from active to reserve as an Army Intelligence officer and to a civilian financial planning career. Mike was quick to help guide the way as he had done both! We quickly discovered that we were both Eagle Scouts, just so much in common. We enjoyed getting breakfast and lunch on a regular basis the last 8 years. I always looked forward to seeing Mike's warm smile. He was intelligent, wise, and so humble. A true jack of all trades. Augusta does not feel the same right now without him here. My prayers and condolences go out to all his family and friends.

One of my favorite memories of Mike is when a group of us met at the Sportsman Cafe downtown to eat a burger. When our respective checks came, I pulled out my plastic card. Mike slipped a $20 over to me and said, they only take cash. What a gentleman. He was always so upbeat and caring. Going to miss the friendship and the business help he so efficiently helped me with personally, for my company and my clients.

Will always remember the theme of the month or the week or the day due to Mike constantly reminding us it was disability insurance month or get your will updated month, or meet with your financial planner month. He was the hand-out king! What a great family, community and business man he has been. Such a great example to us all.

To all the Herrington Family..........I met Mike (Big M) in the 1970's...He was always such a nice guy and could make everyone laugh ! In the late 1980's I ran into him at an insurance office and invited him and Jackie to join our Life Underwriters. We both served on the Board of NAIFA for many years . We enjoyed meetings, luncheons, parties and our "famous" charity golf tournaments !!!!! If I had questions about insurance....I could call on Mike for the answers ! He sure is going to be missed !!! Rest in peace Mike......one day we will all meet again ! My thoughts and prayers are with your family !!!!!!!

I knew Mike through Business Networking International together. He was one of the most reliable men I've ever known, being faithful in whatever you asked him to do.

Having so many similar interests made it easy and fun to talk with Mike. You could talk farming or engineering, politics or barbeque; he was well versed in it all.

Proverbs 22:1 says, "A good name is to be more desired than great wealth, Favor is better than silver and gold." I believe Mike exemplified that verse, leaving us here on Earth with wonderful memories and a smile at the good name of Mike Herrington.

Steve and all the Family,

Mr. Herrington will be missed. My husband and I started with him when he was at the credit union - very helpful and trustworthy in all he helped us with and myself since 1999. He will be missed. Prayers for all the family and comfort and peace.

I remember Mike as a gentle spirit and a lot of fun to be around. He was very smart and I knew that he would be a tremendous success at whatever profession he chose, which he certainly was. I am so sorry for the families lost but rest assure that Mike is with his father in heaven. My prayers for comfort during this sad time.

Mike and I took our CASA classes together and he and I would talk at every in house meeting we would attend. He was very easy to talk to and he was very eager to help the children of the court. I was shocked to see that he passed away. He was a very kind, caring man and losing him is a tragedy. My husband and I want to express our deepest sympathy to his family.
