Kenneth "Ken" LeBlanc, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, service, and friendship that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Born on March 4, 1943, in Wausau, Wisconsin, Ken was a man whose kindness, humor, and generosity touched countless lives. In 2005, he settled in Augusta, Georgia, where he built lasting friendships and became an active member of the community he loved.
Ken proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. The values he learned through military service—loyalty, integrity, and dedication—remained with him throughout his life and were evident in the way he treated others.
Following his military service, Ken enjoyed a successful career with Erie County, serving as Supervisor of Data Operations. He was respected for his intelligence, leadership, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence.
While Ken accomplished much throughout his life, his greatest joy was always his family. He is survived by his daughters, Stacey Anne LeBlanc and Denise VanHout. He was a proud and devoted grandfather, affectionately known as "Gramps," to Jacob Ethan Buckalew and Madeline Isabella Buckalew, Stacey's children. He was also the proud grandfather of Joseph Paul ("J.P.") Chaner, Riley VanHout, and Nicole Lynn Simmons, Denise's children and grandchildren. In addition, Ken was blessed with seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.
Ken had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued. He loved spending time with family and friends and never missed an opportunity to share a laugh. Whether he was golfing, relaxing at the beach, watching baseball or football, playing games, or telling stories and jokes, he found joy in life's simple pleasures.
A devoted member of the American Legion, Ken especially treasured the time he spent with his fellow veterans and friends. Every Tuesday and Thursday, he could be found at the Legion sharing stories, laughing, and reminiscing about the good old days. Those friendships meant the world to him.
His sense of humor was one of his defining traits, and family and friends will forever remember his favorite saying: "Almost as if he were normal."
To those fortunate enough to know him, Ken was simply one of the best people they had ever met. His kindness, compassion, and genuine love for others left a lasting impact on everyone who crossed his path. Though his passing came too soon, the memories he created and the lives he touched will endure forever.
Ken will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
