Lawrence Dreyfus

Lawrence Frank Dreyfus, 84, of Augusta, Georgia, passed away on June 11, 2026. Born March 24, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Casmier Joseph Dreyfus and Gladys Pratt Dreyfus. He attended a Catholic school, where the steady discipline of the nuns helped shape the strong foundation he carried throughout his life.

A proud Vietnam Veteran, Lawrence served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1968. In the years that followed, he brought the same determination into civilian life, forging his own path as an entrepreneur and as the owner and operator of Southside Stereo and TV. Whether in uniform or at work, he met life with a spirited sense of adventure, and his humor had a way of lightening the moment and drawing others close.

Lawrence attended Ebenezer Baptist Church for 19 years, a commitment that reflected the steady place faith and fellowship held in his life. He also found enjoyment in the bright energy of casinos and gambling—an interest that suited his lively outlook and appreciation for a little excitement along the way.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Leone Evelyn Dreyfus; his daughters, Kathylene Dreyfus Worley, Janet Renee Dreyfus, Dawn Fleurette Dreyfus, and Tonya Dreyfus Stein; and his extended family, Angela Bennett, Gene Quarles, and Allison Shuster; his grandchildren, Christine, Karen, David, Candice, Matthew, Lawrence, Lauren, Cameron, Rachel, Alexander, and Channa; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Leslie Emmert.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Delores Davis Dreyfus; his daughter, Laura Evelyn Dreyfus; and his brother, Scott Joseph Dreyfus.

Lawrence will be remembered with respect for his service, with gratitude for the life he built through hard work, and with affection for the laughter and bold spirit he brought to those who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 on June 18, 2026 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 303 Airport Rd. Trenton, SC 29847, Pastor Eckles officiating.
